GoPro Sports Action Camera 22 LED Square Ring Light, by Veemoh

My husband and son have a GoPro like sports action camera that they like to use during our family adventures. I thought it would be nice for it to have its own light source, and that was the main reason why I bought this 22 LED square ring light. The LED lights are inside a clear plastic case that attaches easily to the camera, and produces a filling light. It is very bright, and lightweight. The light also comes with a Velcro strap that provide a better attachment level if needed. Unfortunately, my boys used it once but haven’t used it again because our outings are usually during daylight, and because they did not like having to carry a power bank with them. My husbands words were, “Carrying a power bank for the light defeats the purpose of the freedom of handling an action camera.” I immediately understood what he meant as he was able to make a clear point.

Being a professional photographer I’m always playing with light, and different sources of it. I decided that since they were not interested on this LED light perhaps I could find an alternative use for it. Since then I have been using this light for table top photography as I can easily move it around or even shoot throughout it. Its portability (I do not mind having to carry a power bank with all my gear) allows me to add the light I need no matter where the place. Overall, I’m able to get a better use out of this light with my photography than them with the sports action camera. The light it produces is non intrusive, and looks great in photographs. Its been quite helpful for my photography.
