My husband is the only big tea drinker in our household; Tea is not for me at all. So when I saw this small (27 ounces) glass teapot I thought it would be perfect for him. This hand crafted glass teapot comes with a Stainless Steel infuser, and lid. The infuser can be removed but if you do so then it has to be left lidless as without the infuser the top of the pot is too big for the lid which is definitely a negative. I most say that the teapot is so much cuter in person. My husband has used it a handful of times without any issues. It is stove-top safe, and dishwasher top rack safe. The glass used for the teapot is Borosilicate which is the same used for Pyrex glassware but I have to say that the glass used for this pot is very thin and fragile, it does not seem to compare to any Pyrex glassware that I have ever used; The handle seems very delicate compared to the whole teapot. He has not had any issues with using hot water on this pot, it handles it nicely. However, we never placed the teapot on the stove because we were concerned that it would not survive it because of the thinness of the glass.
The issue comes because my husband likes to remove the infuser leaves from his tea, and with this pot that means leaving the pot without a lid and exposed to the elements. Once I noticed his dilemma I talked him into going back to his corny infusers, and I decided that since I really like the details, design and curves of this pot I would use it as decor. We are at the beginning of our big move so it is a bit difficult to do it right now but I plan on using permanent vinyl to add some cute phrase to the outside of the teapot. If the teapot had the capability of removing the infuser part without leaving the pot without a lid, it would be perfect for my husband’s needs but that is not the case. Overall, we like this teapot because of its physical characteristics but not that much because of its functionality for our household needs.
