We do the homeschooling of our four year old, and we have finally began to practice writing. He loves it but in order to keep him interested I like to surprise him with different
tools to keep his love of writing going. When we ordered these chalk markers we were under the impression that the markers were full size but were surprised by its petite size when compared to other liquid chalk markers. But
as soon as we saw it we knew it would be perfect for our son’s small hands. The markers are about the size of a pen but a bit thicker. Until now he had been practicing his writing on paper but now he uses these markers which
he is thrilled about.
Before relinquishing the markers to the little one of the house, we tried then on different surfaces: chalkboard, mirror, glass, plastic, and dry erase board. It worked perfectly on most surfaces. We did noticed that at first the color seems to be on the lighter side but as it dried the colors picked up pigmentation, and became brighter. It did take a few extra seconds for the colors to pop on the chalkboard; The wet ink was noticeable but it was blending with the board but after some seconds the colors showed up. This is something that might bother some, so be aware of it. In our case, we were fine with it as we prefer to use the dry erase board and there the colors were bright from the beginning. This set comes with eight different colors (blue, green, orange, purple, pink, red, white, and yellow) with tips of two millimeters; These markers have a fine tip which have been perfect for this stage of our son’s learning. The ink comes off easily with a cleaning wipe from the different surfaces. It also cleans easily from the hands with soapy water.
Altogether, these markers work in our household. The only concern was the chalkboard taking some more to show but we don’t really use on it that much unless we are trying to write a message that we want to display for a bit. Its small size was a surprise as all the chalk markers we have are much bigger in size, and that created the expectation of all being the same size. The markers are great for children.
