This power inverter by Vehemo is light weight and has a solid construction. The inverter is 300W with two standard 110 volt AC outlets along with two USB ports that are rated at two Ampere. The external body is made of heat sink and is painted red. I tried this with my cellphone and my MacBook Pro. I had connected both the MacBook Pro to an AC outlet and my Nexus 6 to a USB port on the Inverter before plugging in and turning it on. When I plugged it in before turning it on I noticed that my cellphone immediately started charging. Meaning that you don't have to turn on the Inverter if you just want to use the USB ports just plug in the Inverter to either the battery of the cigarette plug and it will start charging. Naturally you would need to have the car on or if you have it connected to the car battery directly you don't need to have the car on. When I turn on the switch my laptop begin charging, just to see if there would be any issue with a sudden increase in load I played a video from you-tube while tuning up the brightness and volume as high as possible.
